Born in 1976, Pez began painting his way around Barcelona in 1999. At first his tag was his signature and it later evolved into the fish character he paints today. He enjoys that the smiles he paints on the fish seem to pass good vibrations to walkers on the streets. A few years later, he spread his smiles all over Europe and L.A. His work has appeared in some of the best-known street art books: Street Logos, Art of Rebellion, Street Art, BCN New York, Graffiti Planet, and in specialized documentaries like “Bomb It-The Movie”, “Muros Libres”, “Free Walls” and “A Primer on Urban Painting”. Recently, Pez has been caught painting demons, angels, giraffes and Martians as well as the infamous fish. What all of the characters in his graffiti have in common are huge, infectious smiles.
