> Creativity abounds in South African Rhino Design Competition

Back in 1993, Marc Ecko decided to use the Rhino as his primary logo and brand identification. Why the rhino? The rhino looks docile but can take off at 35 mph. The rhino is fiercely loyal. The rhino is a survivor. Marc found a truly unique symbol for a truly unique brand.

Committed to harnessing creative forms of youth expression in original and unprecedented ways, Marc Ecko Watches initiated a student design collaboration that spanned Cape Town, Pretoria and Johannesburg. Students from Inscape Design College in South Africa were given a standard issue silver Rhino along with a brand overview. The students had four weeks to use their talent and creativity to bring out the unique message of Marc Ecko through the rhinos.

One month later, the amazing collection of 75 artistically detailed rhinos were presented. A collection of the rhinos will be on display with key retail partners throughout South Africa to tell the story of the Marc Ecko Watches collaboration with Inscape Design College.

The star wars rhino is the best by far if you ask me! The eko friendl idea was so cool and nothing like that was ever thought of!
